While the end of summer is nearing, there's still plenty of time to put together a last-minute summer photoshoot. And today I'm sharing 10 of my favorite ideas for making that photoshoot all the more special. Do a Back to School Photoshoot

August may be the closing chapter of summer, but that makes it the perfect opportunity to celebrate the upcoming school year. Take advantage of the good weather and grab some of your favorite props to make this back to school session extra special, such as books, a globe, pencils, and a backpack. You can even have your child dress in their uniform and include extra special details like the number of the grade your child is entering.

Ride Your Bike

To me, riding your bike is a summer staple. I love feeling that cool breeze in my face, the smell of fresh flowers and grass around me, and the energy I feel as I sneak in some exercise during this fun activity. Another bonus is that bikes come in all shapes, sizes, and colors, making them a great photo prop. So head outside and hop on. You’re guaranteed to have a fun time and get some beautiful photos out of it.

Pick Some Sunflowers

Of course—sunflowers remind me of the sun. So I always see them as the perfect summer flower. This time of year, sunflowers are very easy to come by. Both in bundles at the store and by the hundreds in the fields. No matter what style or location you choose, anything that includes these blooms is sure to be extra beautiful.

Enjoy a Picnic

Picnics are another activity that always reminds me of summer. For some reason, eating outside is fun. And enjoying the last of warm days is a must-do this month. So put on your favorite outfit, bring your favorite colorful blanket, and pack a lunch for two.

Run Through the Sprinklers

Summer isn’t complete without days spent in the water. And one of the best ways to cool off and get stunning photos is by running through the sprinklers. This childhood activity is sure to bring out lots of fun and smiles, and the spray of the water is going to make your photos one-of-a-kind.

Hang Out With Your Pet

Another great idea for summer photos is spending time outdoors with your pet. Whether it’s your dog, cat, horse, or rabbit—get outside and have fun together! Beach photos always turn out stunning. So head over to your favorite beach with your loved ones and enjoy the last of summer by playing in the sand and water. You can even make a day out of it and have some of your favorite activities captured on camera. Whether that means sticking your toes in the water, playing volleyball, or enjoying a good book.

Play at the Playground

For fun summer photos of your kids, head over to the playground for some play time. Play tag, push them on the swings, and catch them at the bottom of the slide. The fun, quality time that you’ll be getting with your children is guaranteed to make sweet photos.

Another favorite pastime of mine during summer is relaxing in a hammock. And with a few extra props such as blankets, books, and of course, your loved ones, you’re sure to get some super cute photos.
